PHILOSOPHER: Issac newton
Isaac Newton was born December 25, 1642 in Woolsthrope-by-Colsteroworth, Lincolnshire, England and died on March 20, 1727. He was an English physicist and mathematician. He was know to be the greatest mind in the 17th century. He studied at Trinity College in Cambridge. He was most famous for describing the law of gravity.
contribution:
He is known for being the inventor of the telescope. He also is famous for his 3 laws of motion. One of his greatest experiments that he did was called the crucial experiment. This experiment demonstrated his theory of the composition of light. Newton suggested that atoms are held together with attractions, otherwise known as forces. He also stated that "matter is formed of solid, massy impenetrable particles”.
Impact:
Isaac Newton was the first person to relate the motion of the heavenly bodies with actual physical concepts we can use on Earth. He developed calculus before he turned 26. He discovered the laws of motion and gravity.
WORLD VIEWS, AND THE RELIGIOUS CHANGES:
Isaac Newton was considered a heretic by his peers because he said something that they believed was wrong. He spoke out against the church and what they believed.
