Greeks
Greeks had the idea that matter is made up of tiny, invisible particles, or atoms. There were many philosophers that came up with this idea. Philosophers like Luecippus and Democritus. The word Atom actually comes from the Greek word atomos, which means invisible. Other philosophers from Greece, like Aristotle, said that matter could be continually divided and that matter flowed from one form to another.
